Verse 1: E Rolling down 40 in my pick up truck A hoping that I don?t run out of luck B7 Looking for something to check off E my Christmas list E Been to five Walmarts and a few Kroger?s A I stopped at Kohl?s and then Meijers B7 So far just coming up a big E blank nacho Verse 2: E On my list is a left nostril inhaler A A mylar ballon in the shape of a sailor B7 And a bereavement card for a E second cousin once removed E Time is ticking and it?s getting kind of short A I?m not sure I?m being such a good sport B7 This little trip has cost me E my whole dang Saturday Verse 3: E Just when I think that I am going to quit A I see up the road just a little bit B7 That beautiful, familiar sign E that we all know E 30 feet in the air sits a beautiful glow A Big black letters on a bed of yellow B7 Tells me exactly that I found E what I?m looking for Verse 4: E They got everything that you could need A From birthday candles to papaya seeds B7 So I make my way down the aisles E Searching high and low E I find everything that I?m looking for A I pay my tab, as I head out the door B7 And a big wave of relief E washes over me Verse 5: E One sure thing I was proud to see A Was there was four Dollar generals and one dollar tree B7 E All in the space of about 6 miles or so E Now I know that my Christmas list is done A but somehow I just can?t resist the fun B7 E Of searching for that one thing that?s really unique Verse 6: E I climb back in my truck and head down the road A Looking once more for the beautiful glow B7 E Of the big yellow sign of the dollar general
