Dream Theater Endless Sacrifice Train of Thought Tabbed by Matt Sells- 28 Dec, 2003 Here is what I can figure out on this song. It is hard to hear exactly what each guitar/bass is playing when both of them are playing at the same time but I think it is pretty accurate. I don?t have the gigantic solo yet but I?m working on it. Tune to drop D (D, A, D, G, B, e) or it will be a lot harder to play. There are a few parts in this song where the beat gets a little? touchy? so just listen to it and play along. Have fun! h- hammer p- pull *- palm mute +- touch string lightly to scream it when you play /- slide up \- slide down g#- indicates solo/second guitar start This is the basic rhythm fig. played. |-------0-1-0-------------------0-|-------0-1-0-----------| |-----3-------3-----3-6-3---3-----|-----3-------3-----3-6-| |---2-----------2-3-------4---2---|---2-----------2-3-----| |-0-------------------------------|-0---------------------| |---------------------------------|-----------------------| |---------------------------------|-----------------------| |-------------------|-------0-1-0-------------------0-|---| |-3-----1-----1-----|-----3-------3-----3-6-3---3-----|---| |-----2---2-----3-2-|---2-----------2-3-------4---2---|---| |---3-------2-------|-0-------------------------------|-0-| |-------------------|---------------------------------|---| |-------------------|---------------------------------|---| g1 |-----0-1-0---------------------------------|-------------| |---3-------3-----3-6-3-----1-----1---------|-------------| |-2-----------2-3---------2---2-----3-2-3-2-|-------------| |-----------------------3-------2-----------|-------------| |-------------------------------------------|-------------| |-------------------------------------------|-------------| g1- Here is the part for the second guitar/bass |----------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------------------------| |-------------------------3-2-0----------------------| |------------5-0-1----3-----------0--1---------------| |-0-------------------------------------3--2---------| Play that entire part again (without the second guitar). the keyboard does it?s thing and then you go onto the verse where you play it a third time AND a fourth time. After that you go into the higher scale version of it. You might need to listen to the song to really get how it goes. |-----3-5-6-5-3-----6-5---6-5-----3-5-6-5-3-----10p8------| |---3-----------3-5-------------3-----------3-5------8----| |-0---------------------------0---------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------| |-5---10---10---|-----3-5-6-5-3-----6-5-6-----5-------3-5-| |---3-----------|---3-----------3-5---------3---3---3-----| |--------7----7-|-0-------------------------------0-------| |---------------|-----------------------------------------| |---------------|-----------------------------------------| |---------------|-----------------------------------------| |-6-5-3---------------------------|-----------------------| |-------3-5-----------------------|-----------------------| |---------------------------------|-----------------------| |-----------------------------5-3-|-----------------------| |-------------3-1-3---3-5---5-----|-----------------------| |-----------5---------------------|-----------------------| And now you go into the chorus |------------------------------------------------|--------| |------------------------------------------------|--------| |------------------------------------------------|--------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0--7+--0-0-3-5-0---0-5-7-5-3-|--------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---0-5-7-5-3-|--------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---0-5-7-5-3-|--------| |--------------------------------------------------|------| |--------------------------------------------------|------| |--------------------------------------------------|------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0?-7+--0-0-3-5-0---3-3-3-5-5-5-|------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---3-3-3-5-5-5-|------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---3-3-3-5-5-5-|------| * * * * * * |------------------------------------------------|--------| |------------------------------------------------|--------| |------------------------------------------------|--------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0--7+--0-0-3-5-0---0-5-7-5-3-|--------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---0-5-7-5-3-|--------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---0-5-7-5-3-|--------| |--------------------------------------------------|------| |--------------------------------------------------|------| |--------------------------------------------------|------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0?-7+--0-0-3-5-0---3-3-3-5-5-5-|------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---3-3-3-5-5-5-|------| |-0-0-3-5-0---0-3-5-0------0-0-3-5-0---3-3-3-5-5-5-|------| * * * * * * Next there is a short bridge |---------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------| |-0---------2--------5----------3--2----------------------| |-0---------2--------5----------3--2----------------------| |-0---------2--------5----------3--2----------------------| Play through the verse and chorus again adding the distortion in the verse at the right time, then you go into the big long solo.
