Here are the rest of the basics of drumming that you might have had in part 1.

PART II
finishing the Basics

In this beats, the hi-hat and the drums are not hit at the same time, but are all
seperate.

H|--o---o---o---o-|--o---o---o---o-|
S|----x-------x---|----x-------x---| the up-beat
B|x-------x-------|x-------x-------|
  1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +

Now this next part might be the hardest out of the basics. This is hand to hand 16th
notes. you must use both hands to hi the hi-hat and only take one off to hit the snare drum when needed. This is the only beat were you can stop hitting the hi hat
to hit the snare drum. Try this one out first

H|o-o---o-o-o---o-|o-o---o-o-o---o-|
S|----x-------x---|----x-------x---|
B|x-------x-------|x-------x-------|
  1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +

That may not have been as hard as i said, but heres the real thing

H|oooo-ooooooo-ooo|oooo-oooooo-ooo|
S|----x-------x---|----x------x---|
B|x-------x-------|x-------x------|
  1d+d2d+d3d+d4d+d 1d+d2d+d3d+d4d+d

This does take a lot of practice, unless your already fimilier with drum rolls and
quick hand movement. the hardest thing about this is staying on time, since the hi
hat move alot when you hit it. If you get the hi-hats real tight, and you hit it on
top of it with the tips of your sticks, it may be easier.
Well, thats all the basics. If you want, just go over them one more time really fast
before do this next part

PART II.5
Bass work-out/Warm-ups

This is just some warm-ups with the bass drum before going to Part III. If you can
get the hang of these now, the next lesson should be no problem.
NOTE: I only put the numbercounts under the bss hits because the snare and hi-hat
 beats stay the same

H|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-
S|----x-------x---|----x-------x---
B|x-------x-x-----|x-------x-x-----
  1 3 + 1 3 +

H|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-
S|----x-------x---|----x-------x---
B|x-----x-x-------|x-----x-x-------
  1 + 3 1 + 3

H|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-|o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-
S|----x-------x---|----x-------x---
B|x-----x---x-----|x-----x---x-----

Heres some tings you might want to know when playing drums: - means things to
consider and ~ are how to set-up yourself

-Everything matters,ex. how the drums are setup, angle between feet on hihat and bass
-Try not to think when you play. When you know a beat, you should be able to play it
 naturally with your eyes closed
-add some color to your beat, like a little extra bass or something (which youll be
 learning next lesson)
-Do not speed up or try to outpace a song. If you play in a band, then going faster
messes up everyone else, since drums set the beat and pace to the song
~Keep the drumstick between your index and thumb when playing
~keep your hand loose, so the sticks move around in the 'cave' between your two
fingers while playing. This lets you do the minimun work needed.
~dont have your arms stiff. Your arms arnt as important as your hand in playing but
if they're stiff, your hand dont move as much and you cant play as fast

I just thought that might help you i nthe future

And Thats it. My next lesson, continuing the bass work-outs and funky beats,
is alot of fun once you get the hang of playing it, so its worth doing, if you havnt been for the last two parts. Rate this according to how much it helped.
